Gert de Rijk - ivory bowl in porcelain

Gert de Rijk was an energetic potter / ceramic artist. His works are of a great variety. Since 1965 he has prolonged Jan van Ham's Pottery in the Twijnstraat on the Wharf. Apart from his own work, he has also worked with other artists under the name Z4 (de Vier Zwammen, or The Four Toadstools!). This cooperation produced beautiful objects. See for instance the large spherical shard-cut vase on offer elsewhere on our site. In 1991 this perfectly thrown porcelain bowl with lowered base came in to being. The bowl has a beautiful ivory-coloured high gloss.
