De Porceleyne Fles, Delft - Leon Senf, dish with 'New Persian' decoration
De Porceleyne Fles, Delft, dish of so-called 'Nieuw Perzisch' (New Persian) with a handsome decoration inspired by the antique Persian ceramics. In the centre a decor of a lyre-bird. The border with a leave and flower decoration in copper green and cobalt blue. At the back a typical 'Persian' border. Painter's signature three dots (Leon Senf). The plate has some deliberately irregularities and one piece of glaze at the edge teared off.
